Igniting Inspiration in your News Feed
Paul Abraham of Heading Onwards writes about why he has again sponsored the Igniting Inspiration campaign which showcases women in the North who are making a positive difference.
“I’m proud to be a sponsor for a third year of the high-profile annual Igniting Inspiration Campaign, set up by Inspiring Women Changemakers (IWC). What I experience as both a member and sponsor of the organisation continues to exceed my expectations.
The Igniting Inspiration Awards campaign highlights the inspirational stories of women changemakers in the North. With each nomination published on the IWC website as a case study, we learn about ordinary women doing extraordinary things, whose stories often go unheard.
From businesswomen to asylum-seeking women, the inspirational nominees represent the full spectrum of society. Everybody is welcome. They show us that it’s possible to make positive change, whatever resources you have at your disposal.
What’s in it for sponsors?
Inspiring Women Changemakers has a wide reach through its website and social media channels. IWC’s approach to inclusion and its positive online presence is just a two of the reasons the organisation is valued so much, not just by its members but by its media partners, by businesses like mine, and by the wider community.
The ability to align my brand with theirs is valuable, and the affordable sponsorship packages IWC has created for exclusively for small businesses offer real value for money. My early involvement in the campaign means that my brand will be put in front of a broad audience from March right through until November!
Why a digital approach works
IWC has an online treasure trove of advice, inspirational stories and blogs which are easy to share. The resources help to guide, motivate and bring clarity when facing new or challenging situations. However independent and strong you are, there is always a point where you need some expert guidance. This is where IWC goes the extra mile – and it always does so with warmth and integrity.
Having experienced mental health issues since childhood and being five minutes from suicide in 2014, this is a matter close to my heart. I’m pleased to say that I am now a registered Mental Health First Aider and owner of Heading Onwards, as well as the President of the Northern Boxers Federation.
In large part, my life changes have arisen as a result of being a member of the Inspiring Women Changemakers movement and through coaching from its Founder, Anj Handa who has an amazing ability to see things from a different angle.
Mental Health issues can strike anybody at any time. In fact, according to MIND, one in four people in the UK will experience a mental health problem in any one year and almost one in five people will experience suicidal thoughts and feelings during their lifetime.
The Igniting Inspiration campaign provides a great boost to morale – so get nominating!
