Leading Metals Company Champions Female Talent within Sector
Kloeckner Metals UK are delighted to have become the first founder patron of Inspiring Women Changemakers, a dynamic network of women leaders who come together to create positive social impact by influencing key issues in the economy and wider society.
Kloeckner Metals UK is a member of the Klöckner & Co group, a leading global producer-independent distributor of steel and metal products.
Finance Director & National Compliance Officer, Ciara Milne (pictured above) says “We feel that being part of the organisation will be great for our own company profile and it fits strongly with the company’s diversity strategies.”
As an active member of the National Association of Steel Stockholders (NASS), the company recognises the need for diversity within the sector. It wishes to proactively support its female employees, attract new talent and provide routes for young women to enter the industry.
Inspiring Women Changemakers members share a collective desire to address the workplace gender gap through mentoring and support for women at all levels in the workplace.
The movement kicked off in October 2016 in Yorkshire. It was founded by local businesswoman and award-winning campaigner, Anj Handa who says “I am thrilled that Kloeckner Metals UK will be taking an active role in driving Inspiring Women Changemakers forward. Due to its profile and reach, the organisation will influence effective diversity practices within its sector through leading by example.”
