Grant Thornton is proud sponsor of the Diversity-Driven Organisation award, which recognises women leaders of micro- and small business who are committed to diversity and inclusion.

Through Igniting Inspiration, all nominations are published across social media, bringing their positive stories to a wide audience and inspiring others to get involved. The awards are the brainchild of Inspiring Women Changemakers Founder and prominent Yorkshire businesswoman and lobbyist, Anj Handa.

One of the nominees in this category is Leeds-based lawyer, Jodie Hill of Thrive Law. Jodie is in the early stages of publicity for her campaign for every workplace to have a Mental Health First Aider. She is currently focusing on changing opinions at grassroots level, by meeting with people in a position of influence, including MPs and other Mental Health Awareness Champions.

Jodie has already gained a significant degree of media coverage, including in the Yorkshire Post, Sky TV and the Law Society Gazette. She has had meetings with Paula Sherriff MP, the opposition spokesperson and Shadow Minister for Mental Health issues and is due to meet with several other prominent politicians.

Last year’s winner of this award category was serving prison officer, Vicky Morrell, who supports offender rehabilitation company through fundraising. She has since established A Little Something Back and registered the CIC in June 2018.

Andy Wood, business leader, North and Midlands, at Grant Thornton UK said: “Grant Thornton recognises the importance of diversity in the workplace and we are proud to  support Igniting Inspiration.”

“There are many women-led organisations driving forward this important agenda and we look forward to celebrating their success stories and using their positive examples to inspire others.”
