Chapel FM Broadcasts Igniting Inspiration Awards
This year’s Igniting Inspiration Awards, held by Inspiring Women Changemakers, will be broadcast live from Chapel FM Arts Centre. Part of Heads Together Productions, a community arts organisation that uses the arts and media to inspire a creative vision in individuals and communities in order to improve potential and achievement.
In 2015, the Chapel FM Arts Centre opened a newly converted Methodist chapel situated in the heart of Seacroft, becoming the first-ever dedicated arts venue in East Leeds and the crowning glory of its investment in the area.
The Chapel FM venue features radio studios, teaching and workshop spaces, and a radio theatre that incorporates the original church organ and pews, along with modern recording equipment and stage lighting.
This year, despite the Covid-19 pandemic, Chapel FM completed a major expansion and renovation of the centre, adding more workshop and performance spaces, a community café and other features, significantly expanding the capacity to present arts events for and with the community as well as special broadcasts like the Igniting Inspiration Awards.
Inspiring Women Changemakers (IWC) Founder Anj Handa says “we are so grateful to Chapel FM for supporting our fourth annual Igniting Inspiration Awards, by providing the space to broadcast the awards live to our audience in the professional way in which we are accustomed.
The health and wellbeing of the IWC are important to us and for this reason, we took the decision early not to hold an in-person event. However, those who have attended previous events were looking forward to hearing from the women changemakers featured in our campaign, and we’re excited to welcome supporters to our live online awards event, thanks to Chapel FM.”

We’re thrilled to get to know the winners and to provide a stage to celebrate their achievements and use our media resources to help their work reach a wider audience. The Igniting Inspiration Awards will be broadcast live from 18:30 on the 18th December. You are able to book your place at the awards event until 5 pm on the 18th via the Eventbrite link or enjoy the buzz on the night by following #IWC2020 on social media.
