Hi! I’m Anj Handa, Founder of Inspiring Women Changemakers (IWC). I’ve worked in professional lobbying since 2003 but it was in 2014 when I led a high-profile campaign that my life really changed. On behalf of a woman seeking asylum for herself and her two girls, I pulled together a top legal team to build her case. In tandem, I led a Change.org petition which gathered 126,500 signatures and the interest of global media, MPs and influencers. Read more here.
I already had advantages such as public policy and communications expertise, media training, and a broad network. But it was the wholehearted people (mostly women) who generously offered their skills and connections that made it possible to make an impact on such a massive scale.
IWC is a community of changemakers of all genders who want the world to become a safer, fairer place for all women: at home, at work, and in society. It was set up to equip changemakers with the communications skills, connections and launchpad to make social change. Through our changemaker community, we support and uplift each other in our work to make the world become a safer, fairer place for women.We tackle deep, serious issues yet we still have fun. Our Mission
We want all women to have fairer opportunities in the workplace, and to be safe from harm at home and in society. When they thrive, we all do.
At all levels, women still experience disproportionate inequalities in jobs, pay, health, education, and access to finance, even though they usually have the responsibility for the bulk of caring and household decisions.
Women and non-binary folk face even greater barriers and burdens as a result of additional, overlapping characteristics such as their race, disability, age, or sexual orientation.

For Changemakers
You who see the issues, get why things need to change, want to do something about it, and live and breathe this work. You are likely to be working alone, or with a very small team, trying hard to make change, often at the edge of burnout, with assets and resources scarce. This limits your ability to make a bigger impact and influence change.
We have a great capacity to influence and energise each other. To do that, we must discover each other. Too many of us are doing great work in silos.
